The creators of Heavy Rain are making an online game
Quantic Dream, known for single-player story-driven adventures Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human, is dramatically changing its role. This time the company has announced a free multiplayer action Spellcasters Chronicles. Two teams of three will fight in it, and the course of the contest will be influenced by magic and summoned creatures. The game’s page is already in the Steam store — here you can also sign up for beta testing that will take place before the end of 2025.
What is known about Spellcasters Chronicles at the moment?

On the ruins of a fairy-tale world only spellcasters remain. They battle each other for control of the Source, from which all magic draws its power. You are to become one of these heroes and fight as part of a trio against another trio on a single map. Combat will be in third-person view. In short, Quantic Dream’s specialists are making a MOBA, but with one unusual feature. The point is that every character has a set of cards for summoning monsters: before a match you can build a deck and then test it on the battlefield. Hundreds of options are promised, and whoever accumulates special points will be able to summon a titan — a huge beast capable of turning the tide of the fight. The goal of each squad, as usual for the genre, is to destroy a certain object.
Summoning creatures is supplemented by spells that deal damage to enemies or alter the surrounding reality of the arena. Spellcasters will need flight to get a better view of the map, as well as tower construction to defend against enemy attacks. In total, 50 kinds of charms from seven schools of magic are promised. Finally, the developers stated that characters can be leveled and their skills shuffled to obtain the play style the user likes best. To sign up for testing, just go to the Spellcasters Chronicles page on Steam and click the «Request Access» button. The project’s release date and system requirements have not yet been disclosed.
