Arena Breakout: Infinite is nearing the finish line

Employees of the Chinese company Morefun Games have been working for several years on an extraction shooter inspired by Escape from Tarkov. It appears the developers are nearing completion of their work: they have officially announced the release date on Steam — September 16. The game promises five maps, six modes, a huge arsenal of weapons, and even a collaboration with Cyberpunk 2077, which will last until mid-October. Here's what we know about Arena Breakout: Infinite so far.

More about the release of Arena Breakout: Infinite

The new shooter is based on mechanics familiar from EFT: you must enter a location alone or as part of a squad, defeat enemies, collect loot, and evacuate at a designated point. The shooting mechanics will emphasize realism and detailed weapon handling. Unlike the Russian shooter, this game will be free-to-play from day one. The developers have already revealed what players will get at launch: five uniquely designed maps, modes ranging from Quarantine Zone and Forbidden Zone to team deathmatch, boss battles, trophy collection, and other genre-standard activities.

The early access experience allowed Morefun to make some gameplay adjustments. On one hand, they've added simplifications like automatic healing in the lobby. On the other hand, matchmaking will be stricter, and the sale and assembly of some powerful items will be restricted. Considering the project's journey since its first beta test in May 2024, the third season will begin shortly after the Steam release. New players will receive bonuses including a titanium safe and free weapon skins. Soon, the digital platform will also host the Chinese shooter's main competitor — Escape from Tarkov.
