Authors of the TV series "Arcane" won an Emmy

For the first time in history, an animated series based on a game has been awarded such a high prize. "Arcane" was created last year at the request of Netflix by specialists from Riot Games - they are also responsible for the multiplayer action game League of Legends, on the basis of which a series of animated films was made. The award ceremony was held in Los Angeles during the 74th Emmy ceremony.

As soon as the series came out, even people who know nothing about the MOBA genre or League of Legends watched it. All thanks to the original style, interesting plot and a purely conventional link to the original work - without knowing the characters or the history of the LoL world, you still quickly understand the events of "Arcane". Its action is set in a city consisting of two levels - the upper Piltwater, where the rich live, and the drowning poverty of the lower Zaun. And the script intrigue is built around a mysterious source of energy and the relationship of sisters, who by the will of fate find themselves on different sides of the barricades.

Earlier, Riot Games' project won the Annie Award, which is given to animated film writers. "Arcane" was awarded for the quality of its design and animation. Now the series has been honored at a more prestigious ceremony - Christian Linke received the winged statuette on behalf of the creative team. The jurors separately recognized the contribution of the studio's art director, the colorist and the set designer.
