A new season of Apex Legends has been announced, which will be available with a legend named Mad Maggie, the "Control" mode, a fresh look of the map Olympus and much more. The release of Defiance coincided with the third anniversary of the game, so that all participants in online battles will be given generous bonuses for admission. The celebration will last for three weeks. Here's what we know about the upcoming update for the multiplayer shooter at the moment.

The star of Defiance is Mad Maggie, aka Margaret Kohiri, the female incarnation of Robin Hood. The lady incited the people to revolt and robbed the Syndicate's cargo ships in order to distribute the spoils to the poor. As punishment for these actions, she was sentenced to participate in the Games, where she must fight to the death with other fighters. On the occasion of the legend's introduction, the developers released a short film from the Outer Land Stories series. You can view it on YouTube - in less than a day the number of views of the video exceeded a million.

Control mode will be available for 21 days. It represents the battles of the teams of nine participants on the map with point control. Details about the new look of Olympus are still unknown, but the developers hint that the differences from the previous version of the location fans will notice immediately. Also, the update includes rewards for entry: in the first week of the anniversary gamers will permanently get Octane and 3 themed sets, the second will give Watson with similar sets, and a bonus legend of the third week - Valkyrie. Whoever already has this content open still won't be without gifts. More "Defiance" will touch combat passes and ranked battles. The season is scheduled for release on February 8.
