ArenaNet announced that on October 28 of this year, the fantasy MMORPG Guild Wars 2 will receive a major update called Visions of Eternity — featuring an entire adventure island, elite professions, raids, treasures, a homestead, movable decor, and other changes. It's worth noting that this is preliminary information — the developers have planned a series of videos and articles that will reveal all the details. But for now, let's talk about what is known at the moment.

Details of «Visions of Eternity» in Guild Wars 2

The expansion's storyline will be simple: the authorities of Tyria are curious about the secret expeditions heading to the island of Castor, as it was long considered unreachable. However, true heroes can brave any sea — they will be able to reach the coveted shores. Upon arrival, you'll explore two locations full of magical phenomena and bizarre life forms. But the developers note that both maps will be revealed over the course of a year — not all content will be shown to the public at once.

Each of the nine professions will receive elite specializations. Players will be able to familiarize themselves with them during a preview event scheduled for August 20-27. All GW2 users with a good reputation will be able to participate in the test. Additionally, players can expect a series of changes to raid and combat mechanics, which will conclude only in 2026. The adjustments are designed to make quests easier for newcomers and simplify their access to activity rewards. In any case, two new raids are currently planned, along with the «Convergence» and «Challenge Fractal» modes.

Players will find legendary treasures and an improved homestead design. All its decorations can be saved as templates and applied elsewhere — for example, moved from a house on Castor to a hero's home on the map of Janthir. Seasonal rewards for Visions of Eternity will await in the Wizard's Vault, and fashion enthusiasts can apply outfit templates to their characters to avoid assembling the same attire every time.
