Albion Online will receive an update with dragons

Hardly had gamers mastered the trials of "Rising of the Keepers" when Sandbox Interactive studio staff announced the next expansion, titled "Dragonfire". In it, as one might guess, the public awaits battles with fire-breathing monsters and adventures in the Ancient Lands — this is exactly where portals that opened all across Albion will lead the heroes. But the developers of Albion Online still need to prepare the DLC for release, which will take place on August 31. Let's tell you what is known about it so far.

Many users wondered what portals were appearing across the map. Now their purpose is clear: they lead to the Ancient Lands, consisting of islands suspended in the air. The gates come in different sizes, so groups of suitable size can pass through them — from large companies to lone heroes. On the other side, rival squads of similar strength will be waiting for you. As soon as the passage is activated, everyone around will notice, so PvP battles for loot won't keep you waiting. Among the highest priority targets are trophies from Ashborn and Mighty Drakes, treasures, fragments of history, and maps leading to the Dragon Sanctuary. This is the most advanced dungeon in the game: only one company can enter here, and the battles inside are exclusively PvE. The main boss here, of course, will be a dragon.

The developers call the battle with the fiery Azarion the harshest PvE challenge in the game's history. It's important that the portals will work both ways: monsters not only guard the treasures of the Ancient Lands but will sometimes be able to invade Albion to spread destruction around. Then heroes will have to join forces to rid the peaceful lands of monsters. However, not all winged creatures will be your enemies: if you obtain an egg in the raid against Azarion, you'll be able to hatch from it a mount like no other. True, to develop this dragon you'll need to feed it other mounts — such as horses, for example.
